The idea is straightforward: encourage drivers to brake more smoothly, accelerate more responsibly, avoid unnecessary hard cornering and maintain more predictable driving habits.
But there is another potential benefit.
In markets where Volvo’s insurance programme is available, drivers who choose to share their driving data could become eligible for usage-based insurance offers that may reduce their premiums.
